Colourpop - Fem Rosa / She Eyeshadow Palette Showcase & Review

The Colourpop Fem Rosa Pallete or She Palette was made in collaboration with Karrueche. I just realized it's not available anymore and has been discontinued at the time of writing. I believe it was released in 2017, and man, time really does fly.

But anyway, I'm still going to make a showcase and review for this palette as I promised to make a post for every single product in my collection.

💖 To-know before you read my makeup reviews 💖

- I'm Asian, hence all my swatches are based on yellow-toned skin.

- I live in Malaysia (tropical, humid and hot af climate)

- I have dry to very dry skin

Packaging

Classic matte bright pink unit carton box. The eyeshadow palette itself is dainty and easy to carry along, sealed easily with the magnets set at the edges. The palette itself is covered in roses, and and shade names are listed at the back and below the eyeshadows themselves.

First Impressions

This is my first ever Colourpop eyeshadow palette, and referring to my name Ruby, you probably already know that I'm a sucker for red eyeshadows. I was very attracted to the warm burgundies and reds in the palette.

🖤 Shades -

First Row

Ladylike - Ok🙂 - This is a champagne shimmer that is great for the inner corners. Good performance and shine for a metallic.

Babe - Eh🤔 - A rather sheer satin shade, color payoff isn't as much as I would want it to be. Skin-color, peach shimmer. Could be used as a transition shade but it's a shimmer though.

Dainty - YES💖 - A metallic mauve or taupe that sits between pink and purple. Great color payoff and performance!

Chick - YESSSSSS💖 - Probably my favorite lighter metallic shade in this palette. It has a truly unique sheen to it that glows a soft gold with a very faint pink shift.

Second Row

Mademoiselle - YES💖 - Similar to Dainty but in a deeper and richer tone. Wonderful color payoff.

Gal - Eh🤔 - The only glitter shade in the palette, and I'm unfortunately not a glitter fan. The red glitter will fall onto your face if you apply too much on your lids. It still has a metallic copper shade underneath the glitter.

Empress - YES💖 - Yet another metallic shade, which leans more to purple this time. It doesn't have as much of a sheen compared to the previous two (Dainty and Mademoiselle) but I like this shade exactly for that reason.

Filly - YESSSSSS💖 - The official description is that this shade is a metallic rusty orange, but its more of a metallic red in my eyes. My favorite color in a wonderful metallic formula. Like Empress, the sheen is toned down, which I love.

Third Row

Dear - YES💖 - This is a warm matte pink shade that blends beautifully and has wonderful color payoff on the lids.

Missy - Ok🙂 - I have trouble blending this matte wine red, and you need time to make it work. But even so, I find the next shade harder to work with.

Damsel - Eh🤔 - This is the hardest shade to work with, but also my most used shade because I use it to line my eyes a lot. It can easily look blotchy and patchy if you don't take your time blending it. I know that purples are hard to formulate, but I still wished it performed like the lighter matte shades.

Duchess - YES💖 - Now this looks more rusty pink/orange to me haha. This has the same formula as Dear, also with rich color payoff.

TL;DR -

Favorite Shades - Chick, Filly, Dear

Hard to Work With Shades - Damsel

Here are some looks I've created with the palette. Pardon the quality of my phone's camera.

Finally, here's my personal ratings for the product!

(7.5/10)

💖 Majority of the eyeshadows have wonderful color payoff and performance (9/12 Shades)

💖 Beautiful collection for red/burgundy girls like me.

💖 Can be used for warm, sunshine looks with their light shimmers and also dark smoky looks with their dark mattes.

💖 I really love 'Chick'! One of the most unique shades I've seen! I'd buy it as a single!

😶 With only four mattes in the palette, it's kind of a bummer that two of the darkest shades 'Missy' and 'Damsel' are harder to work with.

😶 Glitter mess if you use 'Gal'. You could opt for a glitter glue if you want to!
